Go Inter??!!

Today since english became one of the most important language for people around the world, studying English is very important for every Thai students. Englihsh is not only importnat for Thai students, but also for parents, teachers or even Thai government. The trend of sending their children to study abroad where English is taught as a native language such as USA., or UK. became more more popular. Yes, who else can teach English as the native but the native ones. Students not only can learn how to use and perdorm their English but they also can learn the life skill such as how to take care of themselves when they are far away from their parents and also learn how to sovle their own problems. Although it seems that studying aboard would provide many advantages for both students and their parents, I think, it is not always that good as it should be. When the students have to be alone and far aways from their parents, they could feel lonely and it is, at the same time, hard to find someone to talk to. There might be a lot of friends, but still, friends could lead them to the wrong direction. For parents, It is hard to guide their children since they are far away from each others. Moreover, studying aboard would cost very expensive that not many people could efford it. When I comes to this point and realize that studying aboard could not be that good, I question myself about studying in Thailand in term of  the quality of the curriculum and the quality of the students after graduate. I have to accept that the curriculum of Thai school these days is very good that they can produce many great students who are very good at English, especially some students who graduate from international school or bilingual school. What about the cradibility??? People who graduate from oversea would gain more craditbility than those who study in Thailand. For me, this belief is quite old already. I do not think that people who graduate aboard would always be better than those who graduate in Thailand that, these days, there are a lot of native speakers who teach in Thailand so that Thai students could learn their English as if they are aboard. However, this is just my opinion. How about yours? :)

I agree with you in the point that study in Thailand is also good and acceptable and going abroad might not always be the best way. Many people used to believe that a person who graduated from overseas is the most talented, credible and expertise. But now, this belief is changed somehow. A few yeas ago, I learned from my special class teacher (a native English who live in Thailand for more than ten years) that nowadays many Thai people do not only judge a person as skillful by knowing that he/she has been abroad. They will also judge that person’s ability from the level/quality of the university that he/she graduated from. Then what about Thai university? Actually, I, too, think that the qualities of many Thai universities are now becoming higher in level. Studying English in Thailand is also considerable good too.

I agree with you that studying aboard does not always guarantee that you would get a good quality of education. It depends on how you discipline yourself and how much you can gain knowledge and opportunities while being in aboard. Nowadays, there are many bilingual and international schools in Thailand, which accredited from international organization. Those are competitive in terms of their quality that benefits to learners. Even though the tuition fee in bilingual or international school is rather high , there are many parents are willing to pay extra for their children as it is still cheaper if compares with studying aboard. Children as well can study English in Thai environment with their own pace and close to family. However, we cannot deny that “studying or going aboard” is regarded as high-class education for Thais. As Thais commonly assume people who graduated from aboard are approval. Despite the fact that it is not every people are successful in their study. Many of them waste their money and times .Some universities from aboard are not acceptable from Thai government. Thus, consider studying English in Thailand , why do we have to pay more?

Studying abroad is my dream. It is only a dream though since I am too average student to get any scholarships. Forget about my parents’ support they are not that rich to pay for my education abroad and any kinds of those extra activities abroad or extra schools in Thailand. I myself had never ever been to those English speaking countries except a two day-trip to Singapore. I agree on that there are many good international and bilingual school that produce great students who are very good at English. However, these types of schools are limited in some big cities and for those who can only afford their children. And there are too many differences between school and university’s educational level to compare. In my opinion English programs be it in school or in university are too expensive for an average Thai. In addition though many English programs in Universities offer many different types of courses but in the field of English language, I don’t think it can be compared to those in real English speaking environment like in America, England or Australia and so on. If there is a choice and a chance who else doesn’t want to study languages in the real English speaking environment? It is one of the best way to learn language.
